Reliance Home Comfort Shifty Business Practices - Reliance home comfort furnace and air conditioner rentals
My uncle passed away a few months ago and being executor of his estate, found out he had been renting a furnace and air conditioner since April 2004. I called Reliance to find out what the buyout was on the equipment and was told it was $3,890. I asked for a copy of the contract that my uncle signed and kept getting promised it would be sent and still haven't received anything. In calculating out the payments, found that Reliance had charged my Uncle $17,000 in the 10 1/2 years he had been renting. Way to take advantage of seniors, they should be ashamed of themselves!!! I found a deal on a new furnace and A/C for $4,100; so called Reliance to come and pick up their equipment. Was told there was a $500 pickup fee for the two units. Upon my second request to have the equipment picked up, I told them I wouldn't pay for the o/s invoices until they picked up the equipment. They picked up the equipment that day. Now two months later, the house has been sold and I am trying to get the lien released from the house and Reliance is telling me they have no record of picking up the equipment. They should seriously be ashamed of themselves for treating their customers so poorly. It is a wonder they are still in business!!!
